Today, I was deleting old blogs that I have started but never really developed and published. But this one seems worth keeping and developing as a medium for flexing my thinking and writing skills.
Glenda Claborne here. An 'information professional' as our professors at The Information School of the U of Washington told us we are. I guess I am as I have carved out a career that moved laterally along a range of jobs built around data, information, knowledge and, some would add, wisdom, as in that convenient pyramid model they call DIKW. I held jobs with titles such as business analyst, metadata management librarian, information officer, monitoring & evaluation specialist, library director, web editor, and information management officer (manager, coordinator).
These jobs have given me many opportunities to travel to many countries. I consider this a privilege not to be taken for granted, hence this effort to capture in writing some of these experiences.
